Concrete Cutting

Flat Sawing
The term flat refers to the horizontal concrete surface. If you have a surface you need to cut which is reasonably level, this type of sawing would typically be chosen. Flat sawing is normally done on pavement, floors, roofs, bridge decks, dams, culverts and similar sites. It is typically done to provide expansion joints, to remove damaged pavement sections prior to patching, to clean and prepare random cracks for repair, to insert pipes, conduit or electrical cables in trenches, and for demolition purposes. Saw blades, 12 to 72 inches in diameter with diamond segments around the periphery, are normally used for flat sawing.

Applications

  • Expansion and control joints
  • Controlled demolition
  • Reinforced concrete
  • Single and double blade trenching
